Giving Back

I have been blessed with some very fabulous people in my life

The kind of people that make me strive every day to be a better version of myself

to LOVE more, to GIVE more, to BE more thankful

I can’t say enough about how amazing it is to have true friendships that inspire you….

It makes my soul sing (:

So in honor of all the LOVE I have been so fortunate to receive, I am so excited to start doing something that has been laid on my heart for quite a while…..

I will be donating 5% of my gross profits from each shoot/wedding to one of my favorite local charities

So from now on, all of my clients not only get to invest in some fabulous images, but they will also be able to be part of something even more beautiful….I can’t wait to spread the LOVE with all of you!

Embrace the Mess

Sometimes I get frantic….running around spraying everything with bleach and trying desperately to put everything back in its place. 3 kids and 2 dogs are simply not easy to keep up with…..but then in the middle of my cleaning rampage, I almost tripped over these tiny shoes……

these 2 little pink double wide high tops were clearly ruining my flow!

I almost immediately felt annoyed that they were in my way. Then something struck me….and these shoes in the middle of my floor were suddenly the most beautiful things I have ever seen! I just had to stop and be thankful for them.

Sometimes its easy to forget that everything has a season…..before I know it, my house will no longer be filled with tiny shoes and graham cracker crumbs. Yes, life  gets crazy, but there is beauty in the craziness, so why not embrace the mess…..You’ll be glad you did (:

Baby Cadence | Grand Rapids Baby & Newborn Photographer

I LOVE LOVE LOVE taking pictures of snuggly little newborns! Those tiny little fingers & toes send me over the moon! Don’t even get me started on how much I LOVE those chubby little baby cheeks too, I swear its enough to give me baby fever all over again…..

Thankfully, I had the pleasure of having Baby Cadence in the studio recently…and it was perfect timing…I was going through some major newborn withdrawal! Isn’t she a doll!

Thankful Friday | My Little Man

Today I’ve been blessed to hang with my little guy, Harrison, playing Thomas the Train and messing around with my Shake It Photo app. We were having so much fun and I really didn’t want to miss any moments while running off to grab my real camera. I am so thankful for days like these…..he’s growing up so fast and before you know it, I’ll be sitting at his wedding watching him move on to another chapter in his life *sniff*

This is why I LOVE photography….its not always about F stops and ISO…its about capturing the small moments in life because they are so precious and life is so fleeting…..I want to always remember him like this (:

when Thomas the Train was his favorite past time and I was his main squeeze…

and maybe when I look back at these pictures I’ll forget how I had to chase him through parking lots and down sidewalks while I was 8 month pregnant because he ran away…or that he used to climb into the cupboards and dump all my spices all over the floor and made my kitchen smell like curry powder for days….or that he used to scream uncontrollably at night and I’d have to rock him while he thrashed around and I’d have to sing Somewhere Over the Rainbow until he cried himself to sleep…..yeah, I won’t think about those times at all….hehe

I’ll always adore my little man and my heart will melt every time he says he WUVS me….and I can’t wait for more simple days like today:)
