Hannah | Class of 2012 | Urban Couture Seniors

Hannah is such a natural beauty! During our shoot, she reminded me slightly of a younger Katie Holmes….what a doll! I seriously seem to get the cutest seniors ever! Hannah’s session began with some fab make-up with the amazing  Allison Bower, if all my seniors did this I would be in heaven!

For the country look we headed out to an orchard….LOVE her cowgirl hat and boots!

You don’t have to go far to find cornfields in Michigan:)LOVE
Hannah you are a ROCKSTAR!
Love this light:)
this dress is my fave!
I adore her in these….
Thanks so much Hannah for hanging out with me! I hope your senior year is as amazing as you are! xoxo

Maddie | Class of 2012 | Urban Couture Seniors

Maddie is one seriously cool chick! She instantly made me smile when I saw her….I LOVED her style! Then as she open up her bag full of Urban Outfitters clothing, Members Only Jackets and some vintage jeans from the early 1980′s that her mom used to wear, I just knew we were going to have a fabulous session….

Maddie’s eyes are simply stunning!
LOVE her glasses!!!!
What a stinking cutie!
These are her mom’s jeans….LOVE!
you are soooo Beautiful!
These images make me thing of an ad for Anthropologie or Urban Outiftters….
Thanks Maddie for hanging out with me! Have a fabulous Senior Year!

yup….we still got it!

This week, Drew and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary by taking a little trip along the west coast of Michigan on US-31….we explored antique shops in Grand Haven, camped in a tent in Ludington and rode bikes over to the beach to watch the sun set, we wandered around downtown Manistee, hiked up to Empire Bluff at Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Wined & Dined and played Putt Putt in Traverse City, and we even checked out gorgeous Torch Lake…..it was amazing and sooooo wonderful to have some time away from the craziness of life and just be together. After all this time, Drew is still the peanut butter to my jelly….I am so happy that I am married to my best friend!

Yay to us for not letting the silly things in life tear us apart….I can’t wait to grow old with you Drew! You are and always will be my one and only true love:)

Te Amo Babe!

Bregan | Class of 2012 | Urban Couture Seniors

I have such gorgeous nieces! I just can’t believe they are growing up so fast! This year, Bregan is a Senior!!!! WOW! How did that happen??!!!

Bregan has been in front of my camera for years…Its been so much fun watching her grow up…and getting to take tons of pictures along the way! I guess that’s what you get when your aunt is a photographer….back in the day I used to drag her and her siblings out to do mini photoshoots with my old film camera for class projects…and she always was a natural in front of the camera. Now she also rocks it behind the camera too! She has come out to my house during Christmas breaks and Summer Breaks for about 4 years to intern with me….I LOVE the eye that she has for photography!

For her session, we wanted to do something different…so we headed to Chicago and ran all over the city (in the 90+ degree heat) taking pictures….I was pretty much a giant puddle at the end of it, but somehow Bregan didn’t even look like the heat effected her at all. She should seriously get into modeling!

Here are a TON of my faves….I had such a hard time narrowing them down!

I LOVED Navy Pier….it so full of amazing spots for pictures!
Bregan brought one of her Besties with her for a few shots…I think everyone should do this! By the way, don’t you just adore wax lips?!
Bregan has some serious style!
It was quite tricky to get this shot on the bridge without a ton of pedestrians in the shot….but somehow we pulled it off:)I LOVE the city view behind her:)
this reminded us of a certain Taylor Swift video….so pretty!
LOVE the light in this old church…
after our Chicago session, Bregan came out to intern again and so we headed out to get some more pictures with a softer feel….why not have enough to fill a huge book for her open house….
ROCK the Dress!!! (p.s. her very talented mom made this prom dress! )
I just love corn fields and Bregan is always up for anything!
LOVE these!
so jealous of her hair…and her gorgeous eyes!!!
Congrats girl on your last year of high school! I am so proud of the young woman you’ve become and I can’t wait to see what your future has in store! LOVE you to the moon and back! xoxo

Kyle + Joe | The Homestead Resort | Glen Arbor Wedding

Kyle and I met almost 4 years ago when I photographed her brother Chris’ wedding at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa in Traverse City….I seriously fell in love with their family and how much fun they have together! At the time, Kyle and Joe were still dating after meeting through a mutual friend in college and she was just beginning her long road to become a fabulous veterinarian at MSU (Go Spartans!) I immediately could tell this girl was quite the catch, and Joe adored her to pieces.

The next year, Kyle sent her wonderful BFF Val my way and I was lucky enough to be able to capture Val & Dan’s amazing wedding at the Kent Country Club. I am still drooling over Val’s dad’s classic cars, and Dan’s family and friends who came over from Australia are still on my top 10 list of awesome people I’ve met in my lifetime!

Then early last year, Kyle let me know that she and Joe were engaged and that they wanted me to capture their day too!!! I was sooooo excited….I just LOVE working with such fabulous people and Kyle and Joe are pretty much at the top of my list!

Kyle and Joe were married at the top of a cliff with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan at The Homestead Resort in Glen Arbor, MI. I LOVE shooting there…it has to be hands down, my fave venue for weddings. Barb and the staff make sure each wedding runs like a well oiled machine….and everywhere you turn on the resort is like a postcard…LOVE!

I headed up the day before their wedding to cover the rehearsal dinner too…such a fun way to get some relaxed pictures with your most special guests…

Here’s Kyle and her AMAZING sister (she totally rocked as the Maid of Honor!)

and the fabulous family (hi there Chris & Julie!!!)

After dinner everyone headed to the beach for a sunset campfire and s’mores…
What a perfect end to the night (;
The next day it was supposed to rain for their wedding…. but instead they had nothing but gorgeous blue skies and lots of sunshine….I think someone called in a favor to get weather like this…
Kyle and her girls were tucked away in their condo overlooking the water to relax and prepare for the big day…

While the girls got ready the guys enjoyed some golf…which meant I got to drive a golf cart (: I only almost crashed 3 times…hehe

her dress was stunning!

and it looked even more amazing on her….

Isn’t Kyle such a beautiful bride!!

By the way, Did I mention Joe survived a plane crash this year just to be able to spend the rest of his life with Kyle….now that’s LOVE! Joe…you clean up pretty good…I can see why Kyle is totally smitten by you;)

What a proud papa!

Bling Bling…I am LOVIN’ my new 100mm 2.8 Macro lens for ring shots:)

the sun came out in full force….but I used it to my advantage and caught some beautiful light….
On their way down the hill on the chair lift….as husband & wifey awwwweeee!

The reception at the Mountain Flowers Lodge at the resort was gorgeous! Aren’t these placecards and table markers by Syd Design fabulous! I LOVE how each table was named after a classic car (:

at the end of the night we snuck out for a few more shots on the beach as the sun sunk behind the water….I LOVE the soft light in the evening…

work it!
it was such a gorgeous night on Lake Michigan for a stroll….
Kyle & Joe…I had such a blast at your wedding and I am truly so happy for you both! Congratulations on your new life together in L.A.!
