Its made for beginners who want to learn the basics of their camera settings, lighting, and a few secrets that’ll turn boring snapshots into something amazing.

your instruction manual (just in case)

A Pillow Can Change Your Life | My Crazy Beautiful Life

I am sure you are questioning why I would even dare to say that my life has been changed by a pillow. Honestly, I can hardly believe it myself…..but you see, this is not just ANY pillow.

This pillow made my soul sing, my heart skip a beat and all at once my future highly organized life flashed before my eyes….

….the life where my house is perfectly decorated and as if it belonged in a Pottery Barn catalog with sprinkles of Anthropolgie accents & Urban Outfitters details appearing here and there, and where my kids play quietly around me while I admire my crisp and clean white couch that has absolutely no sticky fingerprints covering the cushions. Ahhhhh…..that would be the life for me….

Just look at this glorious life-changing pillow:

I KNOW RIGHT…..NOW YOU LOVE IT TOO! Quite often my obsessions are contagious (: I am not surprised.

Somehow the fact that I do not even (or maybe will not ever) own this $78 pillow really hasn’t phased me…..its the idea of the pillow that I love, and all the things that it implies.

Do you think the pillow factory intended on changing lives while they were churning out these beautiful things by the thousands?? I assure you they know EXACTLY what they are doing….you see its a slippery slope and I have completely fallen victim to their marketing genius.

The pillow leads to the new white couch…(this one may be a little tooo white…)

which leads to the fabulous orange patterned curtains that I simply MUST have,

and maybe I will add an orange chair

or maybe a turquoise one…

which makes me want to repaint my entire living room a lovely new shade of gray or maybe a very light yellow…and then of course, I’d have to refinish my hardwood floors, and then I would HAVE to buy the custom artwork that I’ve been eyeing on Etsy ….

which will be displayed next to the shelves that I will have to build that I will fill with ikea vases

and my vintage camera collection that I just started

All of this will lead to my new very stylish & organized room which will spill over into the rest of my house and then into my ENTIRE LIFE!!!

In the end, my kids will behave better, the homeless will be fed, every lonely child will get a puppy, everything will magically become AMAZING & all will be right with the world…..and it started because of this pillow!!!!!!!!

Now….all I have to do is get my hubby on board….

Do you think a steak dinner would help???

Dream BIG!!!! | My Crazy Beautiful Life

I have fallen in love with a children’s book!!!

I just couldn’t help myself….it was inspiring and it reminded me to keep dreaming BIG!

Here’s one of my favorite parts:

“Cause you’re the one whose dreams can be
Whatever dreams you want
Whose dreams can change the way things are
And the way that things are not
And if they say that all your dreams
Are too big to come true
You tell them that I told you…
“That’s what dreams are meant to do!”
They’re meant to make you seem as if
You don’t know up from down
Because dreams are dreams and that’s why
Dreams are worth having around!”

How boring would this world be if we told ourselves that our dreams were just too hard to reach….

Truthfully, I have been in a funk….and then my funk had a funk….its been a very weird ride, but I really see on the other end of this will be an even more awesome MESo this year, I am finally starting a dream journal…..a fabulous journal filled with all of the crazy things that I am dying to try, accomplish, conquer etc..it will be filled with anything and anything I am inspired to do or to become….and the best part is that I am not allowing myself to put any limits on what those things may be…..DREAMING BIG WILL LEAD TO A MUCH MORE FABULOUS LIFE (:

My Crazy Beautiful Life | Happy New Year!!

2010 was full of so many amazing things and tons of iphone pictures!!!

Here are some of the highlights of my year….

I signed a lease at my fabulous loft studio in downtown Grand Rapids….what a fabulous journey & a blessing that has been!

I discovered my undying love for Nutella,

I finally got braces to remedy my baby tooth situation….braces at the age of 31 took some MAJOR getting used to! I only have a few more months to go!

I started crocheting again (and I finally learned how to do more than one long chain!)

I Went to Vegas with adorable hubby, Drew, for his 30th birthday….

We welcomed our new puppy Max to the familyIsn’t he a cutie!

Spent some fabulous quality time with my family

I was also honored to have one of my images featured at Art Prize

and truly blessed to have some fun girl time

I went blonde (and yes I did have more fun) !!!! p.s. I wasn’t driving when I took this

I was also super excited to be featured in the Knot Michigan Magazine!!!

I saw how beautiful life can be even in the dead of winter….

and I also came to realize that no matter what plans I make, God has His way in my life and I should sit back and enjoy the ride….the journey is truly the reward!

I can’t wait to see what 2011 has in store for me
